My Car Engine Turns Over But Still Wont Start - what could be wrong ?


1 - It is possible that your fuel tank is
empty or a faulty fuel gauge reporting improper fuel quanity


Solution - Remove a Fuel Line to see if fuel is flowing through fuel lines




2 -
Carburetor or Fuel Injection Problems























3 - 
Battery is to low or weak - Starter turns over slowly

Solution : Jump start the battery with another car  battery or recharge with a battery charger to recharge the car battery.


4 - Battery Terminals  are Corroded

Solution : Clean battery terminal connections with a wire brush or tool to ensure proper connection


5 - Fuel Pump Has Quit

Solution: Remove fuel line from fuel pump to see if fuel is flowing from fuel pump, requires assistant to turn the key..
no fuel = fuel pump dead. replace


6 - Moisture Problems -  Ignition parts have gotten wet from car washing or heavy rain, driving through deep water
,etc..
Solution : Dry our distributor if installed,


7 - Spark Plugs - No Spark

Solution: Remove a spark plug from engine and lay across the engine to create a ground - have assistant turn over motor to check for spark on the sparkplug indicatin it has fire. No spark move to timing belt section


8 - Distributor / Ignition

Soultion : Check the distributor to see if it has worked loose - also check the ignition coil to ensure that no wires have become disconnected.



9 Coil

Solution : Check for disconnected wires to the coil -  Remove an exit wire from the coil to check and see if it receiving spark, no spark = replace
